..::: My Paintings on Gallery Canvas ~ Mis Pinturas sobre Lienzo :::..

I pulled 2 all-nighters painting away two X-mas Gifts, an elephant and a guitar for my loved ones. This is a joyfully meditating experience. I'm not happy with my elephants eyes. I need to scurry on over to the owners home to edit some little thing on the canvas that are burried in my brain. Luckily they are near by, lol!

..::: Peanut Butter Pancakes :::..

Today my kids asked for some pancakes. I said "How about some PB pancakes guys?" Well, long story short ... I pulled out my recipes and started preparing the mixure from scratch while my girls set the table.

Lots of butter in frying pan from extra crunch on the pancakes, no oil.

..::: Charlota Cake :::..

I finally had time to make a Charlota Cake, which is a vanilla cake topped with  fruits, filling of any flavor and lady finger sugar coated cookies. I started out by baking a vanilla cake, prepared cream cheese icing. I used the cream cheese icing for the filling also. I devided my cake in three parts.

If your going to use cream cheese, use the one for baking that way it won't melt and disapear. Since I purchased a big package I have a ton left over and used some for my icing. The fruits I used are kiwi and peaches. I would of love to use strawberries but there weren't any available at the market. Believe it or not, I used all of the cookies in this package!

My cake smelled so delicious when I took it out of the oven. Yes, this is vanilla flavored cake. I used an 8 " round cake mold.

I devided my cake into three sections.

I filled the sections with my cream cheese icing, yes this is the filling.

I iced the entire cake with the cream cheese icing. I place the cookies around the cake with the help of my daughter, she loves to help. We stuck the cookies quickly before the icing started to melt away. We live in the projects and it is hot, hot, hot. Yes, we store it in the fridge.

For aditional support for the cookies we tied some ribbon around them. Keep in mind you can use any color and any type of ribbon. Why the Scooby Doo candle? We gave the cake to someone special to as part of a B-day present. You can buy all sorts of candles at local party stores.

Here's keeping it together.

I placed the candle in the middle of the cake.

We sliced the kiwi and peaches and placed them randomly on top. That kiwi sure slides everywhere. Carefull when you cut them! To top it off; since it's a B-day cake, we sprinked blue and red colored sugar confetti.

To store this cake we need to keep it in a air tight container, plastic or glass. I used these plastic container. Whatever aroma lingers in the fridge will penetrate the cake. Remember, the cream cheese icing melts in hot weather.
